About the Author
SUSAN KAISER GREENLAND developed the Inner Kids mindful awareness program, and teaches secular mindful awareness practices to children, parents, and professionals around the world. In 2000, she established the Inner Kids Foundation with her husband, author Seth Greenland, to bring mindful awareness to underserved schools in Los Angeles. She was a co-investigator in a multi-year, multi-site research study at UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center/Semel Institute on the impact of mindfulness in education. She has spoken at numerous prestigious institutions in the US and abroad, such as the Mind & Life Institute; the University of Massachusetts; the University of Kansas; Columbia University; Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; San Diego Children's Hospital; the Spirit Rock Meditation Center; the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies; and many others. Her work has been covered by The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, National Public Radio, and CBS Morning News. ANNAKA HARRIS is a consultant for science writers, an editor of nonfiction books, and author of the children's book I Wonder. She is an Inner Kids volunteer teacher and has been working with Susan Kaiser Greenland and Inner Kids since 2005.

Very engaging, easy to modify

I love the format. Having these mindful exercises on large thick cards makes it easy to pull one out and just go. I like the colored organization and explanations of different types of exercises. It make it easy to understand and find the ones you need to focus on. The activities are also easy to modify or give inspiration of your own ideas. I think this is a great way for beginners to get started in mindfulness without feeling overwhelmed.

I wish I had this game years ago! Our family has loved it, teenagers down to the toddlers! It has been really fun and also assisted our children in developing additional tools for handling their life. The ballon activity was especially useful, not only was it a mindful activity but it also served as a grief tool in assisting our children to process a recent family death on an unexpected level. Such a great game to discover more life tools!

• Global climate change with the possibility of catastrophic long-term consequences, following an inability to effectively come to terms with and respond to the impact of human activity on our environment.

These challenges require a newly collaborative, intentional, and systematic approach. This book offers a blueprint for how to get there, calling for increased leadership responsibility, clarity of mission, and empowerment of states and individuals. About the Author

Jonathan Wilkenfeld is Professor of Government and Politics, and Director of the ICONS Simulation Project at the University of Maryland, USA. He was a founder with Michael Brecher of the International Crisis Behavior Project. His research and writing has addressed conflict and crisis, negotiation and mediation, with regional foci in the Middle East and China. His recent research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the US Department of Homeland Security, and by the Folke Bernadotte Academy (Sweden). His recent books include Peace and Conflict 2014 (with David Backer and Paul Huth), International Negotiation in a Complex World (4th edition, with Brigid Starkey and Mark Boyer), and Mediating International Crises (with Kathleen Young, David Quinn, and Victor Asal).

One of the best books on Boa constrictors in a long time!

The Boa Constrictor Manual addresses just about everything a boa keeper needs to know in order to maintain a healthy animal. It covers topics from subspecific differences and the new color morphs of boas, to revolutions in cage design, health, and breeding. The Manual also provides an extremely important section on safety in handling large constrictors and other reptiles. This book offers tips on selecting a healthy boa and discusses the many different methods used for environmental control, caging, feeding, and maintenance. It is extremely informative and easy to read, with lots of color and B&W photos, and also includes a basic trouble-shooting guide to boa health. Personally, I would have liked to see even more background information on some of the subspecific differences in various Boa constrictor taxa, as well as reasons for why certain taxonomic names are debatable or obsolete. It seems, however, that this is an area in which most boa books are lacking, and the Boa Constrictor Manual provides more info than many other books on the market. Altogether, this book is a pleasure to read and easy to understand. This, combinded with the fact that it is offered at a very reasonable price makes it an essential part of any boa keeper's educational resources.

If you could only buy one book on Boa Constrictors, this would be it. I had the first printing of this title, and just got the updated version- definitely an improvement. The book details all aspects of their care and breeding, and gives you the hard facts of owning these large beautiful creatures. You will not find redundant or conflicting information unlike some other boa books. Even if you are only considering getting a red tail, do yourself a favor and read this book to find out what you're getting yourself into. I also recommend the books "What's wrong with my Snake?" and "Understanding Reptile Parasites" if you own or are thinking of owning a boa.

Artist's Figural Drawing And Painting Require Anatomical Studies

Just as medical students study anatomy, artists also need to study human anatomy. Artist's anatomy is different from medical anatomy. Artist's anatomy is also quite complex and requires time for studies.

Body movements for each plane aspect, musculature, and bone structure are demonstrated for each part of the body with included movements. In All About Anatomy, bone structure and human musculature are easier to grasp and understand than in almost any other such book.

Synthesizing anatomy into a unified whole and anatomy in practice sections of the book then create a basis on which the artist develops graphic and pictorial art. Barron's All About Anatomy For The Artist is well recommended for its profound knowledge.

I agree. This is a very good book. It gives an effective understanding of the human figure in a clear systematic fashion. It provides working
principles of bones and muscles combined, be it in detail or as a whole, nicely. Moreover, I usually keep it somewhere on my desk for a quick
reference.

Excellent for reference material for life drawing.

This book is not huge but contains very clear and well drawn explaination of the body exterior and interior. An added advantage is the drawings of actual poses which was useful in our life drawing class. I highly recommend this bood for artists who are interested in drawing the human body.

About the Author
Born in India on January 5, 1893, Paramahansa Yogananda devoted his life to helping people of all races and creeds to realize and express more fully in their lives the true beauty, nobility, and divinity of the human spirit.

After graduating from Calcutta University in 1915, Sri Yogananda took formal vows as a monk of India's venerable monastic Swami Order. Two years later, he began his life's work with the founding of a how-to-live school since grown to twenty-one educational institutions throughout India where traditional academic subjects were offered together with yoga training and instruction in spiritual ideals. In 1920, he was invited to serve as India's delegate to an International Congress of Religious Liberals in Boston. His address to the Congress and subsequent lectures on the East Coast were enthusiastically received, and in 1924 he embarked on a cross-continental speaking tour. Over the next three decades, Paramahansa Yogananda contributed in far-reaching ways to a greater awareness and appreciation in the West of the spiritual wisdom of the East. In Los Angeles, he established an international headquarters for Self-Realization Fellowship, the nonsectarian religious society he had founded in 1920. Through his writings, extensive lecture tours, and the creation of Self-Realization Fellowship temples and meditation centers, he introduced hundreds of thousands of truth-seekers to the ancient science and philosophy of Yoga and its universally applicable methods of meditation.

Today, the spiritual and humanitarian work begun by Paramahansa Yogananda continues under the direction of Sri Mrinalini Mata, one of his closest disciples and president of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India since 2011. In addition to publishing his writings, lectures and informal talks (including a comprehensive series of Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons for home study), the society also oversees temples, retreats, and centers around the world.
