My Dream Come True.....

I simply thought I would try something new, and I can truthfully say I have taught Medical Billing and Coding classes with the seemingly same old un-information since 2007 and I always had to supplement that with so many handouts my students jokedly called me the 'paper queen'. Most medical billing and coding classes move very rapidly, and student have to catch-it while reading through a lot of information. This book is the BOMB!!!!
It is written like a textbook should be, and they should be written with the STUDENT in mind. This textbook is such a breathe of fresh air ( and it empowers my students), my students can quickly grasp the important foundational concepts and conventions of ICD-9-CM, HCPCS Level I & II coding and even ICD-10/10 PCS. Great job, extremely well written, all the important coding issues are clearly discussed; needs a few updates because some codes did change since last year.
From now on our school will be using this book, no need to look at any others.

Medical Coding: A Journey by Beth A. Rich

This could be an excellent self-teaching text but for these major flaws: there are no answer keys whatsoever to either the in-text exercises nor to the chapter review exercises. Nor does the author provide a means by which to check any of your solutions. Unless you are formally enrolled in a course where the teacher could provide you with answers to any of the exercises, you have no means of verifying if any of your answers are correct.
